There is no difference in size. One milliliter (mL) is exactly one cubic centimeter (cc), so a 5 mL syringe and a 5 cc syringe hold the same volume. Most veterinary practices use mL in writing and cc in conversation.

One kilogram is 1,000 grams. To go from kilograms to grams, multiply by 1,000; to go from grams to kilograms, divide by 1,000. A 3.4 kg cat therefore weighs 3,400 g.

One kilogram is about 2.2046 pounds. For a quick kg to pounds estimate at the counter, double the kilograms and add ten percent | a 10 kg dog is roughly 22 lb.

A standard teaspoon is 5 mL and a tablespoon is 15 mL. Kitchen spoons vary a great deal, so always dispense oral medication with a syringe or a dosing cup rather than cutlery.

Divide milligrams by 1,000. So 250 mg is 0.25 g, and 1,500 mg is 1.5 g. To go the other way, multiply grams by 1,000. Micrograms are a further step down: 1 mg is 1,000 mcg.

Multiply the Celsius value by 1.8 and add 32. A dog's normal 38.5 °C is 101.3 °F. To reverse it, subtract 32 and divide by 1.8.
